Timing and Techniques for Vegetable Seed Starting with Erin Enouen
March 7, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Interested in growing your own vegetables as a beginning gardener, or looking to improve your skills and successes in the garden? Join us for an evening with Erin Enouen, co-owner and farmer of Long Season Farm. Erin will be teaching about the best timing for seed starting indoors, as well as direct seeding your vegetable garden. She will go through techniques for seed starting success and how and when to transplant your seedlings to your garden beds for a great growing season. Come and learn with us!
Erin Enouen has been living and farming in the Hudson Valley region of New York since 2008. In 2014 she started Long Season Farm with her husband Sam Zurofsky. Their 10 acre certified organic farm is focused on providing fresh, high quality and delicious produce year-round. In her role as co-owner/operator at Long Season Farm, Erin serves as the general manager and specifically manages the crop plan, variety selection, greenhouse production, outdoor seeding schedule, and the overall sales plan for the farm. Though difficult at times, the challenge of four season farming in the Hudson Valley inspires Erin to work with the seasons with a dynamic and adaptive plan. No matter the scale, knowing key temperatures, varieties, and dates can have a huge impact on the overall sustainability and production of any growing operation. This event is over Zoom and registration is required to get the Zoom link.
