The Institute for Animal Happiness Educates on Avian Influenza in NYS

March 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free
Come join experts and local rescue and advocacy organizations for this two-hour hour online gathering to learn: important biosecurity protocols necessary to keep birds safe; get clear information about this and other zoonotic diseases; understand local laws and protocol and foster community; get emotional support and learn how we can mitigate risks and harm in the future.
This is an opportunity to learn about the many facets of this concerning outbreak that has spread across 12 states and several countries; it is a chance to get connected to supportive information channels proactively and be armed with information that can help you protect not just the avians in your care but all avians in the state. We can learn how it will help humans in the Hudson Valley stay safe as well, as HPAI is a zoonotic disease.
Participants doing presentations are: AMY BARKLEY (Avian Influenza Expert, Cornell Cooperative Extension Ulster County) and TARA HESS (Senior Advisor, Open Sanctuary Project) to be followed by a roundtable discussion featuring top local rescue and advocacy organization representatives.
