Fermented Pickle Workshop with Madalyn Warren of Kimchi Harvest

September 9 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$25

It’s harvest time! How can we preserve the bounty from our gardens and farms to savor in the coming months? Pickling and fermentation are ancient and delicious ways to do it! And really, surprisingly easy!

Maria Reidelbach will collaborate on a live cooking workshop at the Marbletown Community Center with the High Falls Food CoopCCE, and especially with farmer and owner of Kimchi Harvest Kitchen, Madalyn Warren. Join us and learn to make a spicy Korean fermented vegetable dish from an expert kimchi maker and take home a half gallon jarful.

Our workshop will employ traditional, basic, lacto-fermentation techniques used by cultures around the world,  processing a variety of produce that is grown using organic methods on East Branch Farm, owned by Madalyn and her mother, Ji Young Kim. The gathering will end with sharing rice bowls topped with fresh kimchi.

Bring your own chopping and paring knives, if possible. Jars and produce will be provided. Limited to 24 participants. $25 per person.
Register here.
