Fabulous Snack Hacks – Free Zoom Class

Snacks – those lovely bites that take the edge off our appetites, that we share with a friend over a drink or a cuppa, that we crave when we feel emotional. Sometimes we we don’t want a full meal – we just want to settle in with some snacks. Maybe it’s too hot to cook, or maybe we’re out of time or energy to put together something elaborate.

I think snacks have gotten a bad rap – mainly because they’ve been abused – yes, I’ll say it! – by companies that sell all that super processed “food” found in the middle aisles of the supermarket. Those items are so attractively packaged and it’s so easy to just chuck them into that huge shopping cart. But beware – many of these substances are engineered to taste fabulous and to fool our bodies into thinking we’re getting nutritious food, but this is the stuff that is causing so many chronic health problems: high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. 

We’ve got a choice! There are lots of truly yummy snacks that our bodies will love-love-love and that will begin to create more vitality immediately.

We’ll be joined in the kitchen by guest cook, nutritionist and snack lover Jamillah Elbey. Together, we’ll share some of our favorite snacks that are yummy, made of whole foods, and are plant rich. You and your body will love them – and so will Mother Earth, since they also have a delightfully small carbon footprint.

Our Snack Hacks class is free, on June 28, at 6:00. Ten folks who make snacks and send us photos and feedback will receive, courtesy of the Ellenville Regional Rural Health Network, an OXO Salad Spinner, great for washing greens and lots of other produce!
